Thread Rave news & progress

Thread Rave, in it's current form, is very different from how we originally envisioned our shiny new website. In fact, when we first started brainstorming the site back in April we wanted to create something very similar to Digg (a social bookmarking website). We even started to build it, but it was never meant to be. There are a couple of reasons for this:

a) The flow of news in the indie t-shirt biz is simply not enough to neccessitate a completely user generated content website; we can easily cover it all ourselves

b) We wanted to run a website which provided context and commentary - and didn't simply link to other websites - we've been working on producing lots of content including reviews, interviews, videos and photographs. If Thread Rave was a social bookmarking website it wouldn't be an appropriate platform through which to distribute this content.

But, at the same time, we didn't want to be just another t-shirt blog ... everyone knows there's plenty of 'em around already. So we're doing a number of things to differentiate ourselves; as mentioned above we're working to produce content in a range of different mediums, including video, to mix things up a bit and keep it all fresh. And we're not completely moving away from our original vision for Thread Rave, in fact we're working on bringing some exciting new features to the site very soon which will involve you - our lovely readers - in a bigger role in the function of the site.

Just remember our tagline "Find, share & promote clothes online" and you'll realise that Thread Rave only ticks one of those features thus far. But there'll be more very soon, so please keep your eyes peeled on the site and follow us on Twitter.

And thank you to everyone that's read the blog or helped contribute content so far, we love you guys!
