We’re not dead

Okay ... so, yes, it has been a long time since August. We're sorry. But don't worry, the best looking t-shirt blog will be back again soon serving you your daily dose of t-shirt fix. We've been working on new functionality, new features and - most excitingly of all - a new sister site.

There will be more details soon, but until then keep your eyes peeled on the blog, follow us on Twitter and keep on lovin' the tee.

Lack of posts

Sorry that posts have been trickling through at such a slow rate recently. We're working on another project right now, but we're definitely not stopping work with Thread Rave! You can expect more great features coming soon.

New Thread Rave features!

Thread RaveWow, what a relief! After playing around with Thread Rave today, we've brought the next stage in our plans for the site to fruition. You may recall our news & progress post from earlier this month, which spoke about  where we wanted to take Thread Rave; a more social bookmarking orientated site (like digg.com) which allowed users to promote (hint: find, share and promote clothes online) features they like.

In fact, this is the reasoning behind Thread Rave's name. Rave can be defined as "to talk wildly, as in delirium." I'm sure you can start to see how our naming ties in with our intentions for the site. And now you, our lovely readers, can start to 'rave' yourselves. Do you see that greyed out heart icon over to the left of every post, under the date? When you click it you're registering your 'rave' - telling us how much you love that particular t-shirt, post or feature. The most popular items are then displayed in a 3x2 matrix all the way at the top of the page. It's easy, just give it a click and you're 'rave' will be counted!

That's all for now, stay tuned for more new features coming soon, and please get raving (:

Graniph Design Awards winners announced!

graniph design awards 2009The winners of the 2009 Graniph Design Awards have just been announced over at their website, and are now available to purchase online. Whereas we must admit we're not great fans of most of the winning designs, we are rather fond of silver prize winner Joao Carneiro Neto's design. The colourful lightning bolts are strikingly similar to something we've seen on Design By Humans, but nonetheless make for a very nice tee which is available for around £13 (with shipping on top for about £8). Take a look at the winners gallery here, where there are also links to purchase each t-shirt (some are yet to be released).

Thread Rave news & progress

Thread Rave, in it's current form, is very different from how we originally envisioned our shiny new website. In fact, when we first started brainstorming the site back in April we wanted to create something very similar to Digg (a social bookmarking website). We even started to build it, but it was never meant to be. There are a couple of reasons for this:

All eyes on: Kneedeepinsleep

Ben Thomas0604Kneedeepinsleep, as some of you will know, is a clothing brand which focuses on the core principles of quality and exclusivity. Despite being founded two years ago, business has only very recently picked up for KDIS, with a flurry of attention on the web and interest from a stateside musician. Headed up by artist and photographer, Ben Thomas, the brand is perhaps a very good representation of what many designers set out to achieve when they begin their own brands. We sent Ben some questions, and were fortunate enough to receive some great responses from him. Read the interview after the break.

New Excess Is OK website and brand launched

Yesterday saw the launch of the new EIO website and sister brand 'Rakes & Strays'. The new website is very similar to the old one, running on the Magento eCommerce system, with the big difference being the introduction of the 'Rakes & Strays' tab.

On first look, the name and logo seem like they should belong to a high end suit tailor or gentlemens clothing brand, however most of the garments on the site look like they'd be more at home under the EIO label. The designs are very similar, if a little less cutting edge, to the current EIO line; and one has to doubt what the merits of launching such similar clothes under an unestablished brand are. Linty Fresh August store update

The Linty Fresh store has just been updated with lots of cool new stuff for August. The update includes reprints of the popular "The Most Fantastic Things" in lime and asphalt colourways and lots of new belts (eight brand new ones!). There's also a new bundle box (two t-shirts and a belt for $50), a 'mystery teaser bundle', and a new button pack.

The new items are very cool, so be sure to check them out at Linty Fresh!

T-shirts from $5 at 410BC!

410BC has a sale on at their Bigcartel page in preparation for their new line which hits very soon! The tee's available are very limited, and mostly for girls, but it's worth taking a look at. My personal favourites are the Lunar and Space Shapes shirts - shame there's none left in guys fit.

Thread Rave can't wait for the new line, and will be blogging it as soon as it arrives, so keep your eyes peeled on our blog and follow us on Twitter.
