All eyes on: Eio Clothing / Rakes & Strays
You may remember the last 'all eyes on' feature we did with Ben Thomas of Kneedeepinsleep - an indie clothing company. Here we're continuing the 'all eyes on' series with an interview with James Lee, the creative director of both ExcessIsOk and Rakes & Strays. I'm sure you've all at least heard of - if not are familiar with - Eio clothing; they're a cutting edge, limited edition brand which has been worn by the likes of Calvin Harris, The Klaxons and Cansei De Ser Sexy. And they've recently gifted the fashion world with a sister brand - Rakes & Strays.

TOTD 18/08/09: Heavens Below by Rakes & Strays
Wow, second tee of the day for Rakes & Strays. We have to admit, we are rather fond of how these tee's look and fit, and a few of the designs out in the debut line really take our fancy. Second to dandelions is 'Heavens Below' - which we think'd be perfect without the text at the top right - but is still pretty sweet as it is. Still pricey at £30 (ouch!), the t-shirt is almost out of stock so you better hurry up and get your hands on it now.

TOTD 11/08/09: Dandelions by Rakes & Strays
Okay...so we didn't exactly rate their branding when we first wrote about Rakes & Strays at launch, but that doesn't mean this blog hates the EIO misfit forever. In fact, our tee of the day for the 11th August is 'Dandelions' by Rakes & Strays...this shirt looks completely sweet and like it's a very nice fit. In fact, if it wasn't so pricey (30 whole pounds!) then we'd be wearing it right now. If that price is no-sweat for you, then take a look at it at the Rakes & Strays online store.

New Excess Is OK website and brand launched
Yesterday saw the launch of the new EIO website and sister brand 'Rakes & Strays'. The new website is very similar to the old one, running on the Magento eCommerce system, with the big difference being the introduction of the 'Rakes & Strays' tab.
On first look, the name and logo seem like they should belong to a high end suit tailor or gentlemens clothing brand, however most of the garments on the site look like they'd be more at home under the EIO label. The designs are very similar, if a little less cutting edge, to the current EIO line; and one has to doubt what the merits of launching such similar clothes under an unestablished brand are.
